ACG’s Approach to Depression Counseling

Access Counseling Group (Charlotte, NC) is focused on helping individuals who may be experiencing these feelings to find a hope in Christ that will bring healing to their pain. We know very well that in this world we are subject to many different challenges and sometimes those challenges can seem to great to overcome. There are many references in scripture to the difficulties that face us, and one of those manifests itself in what we are calling depression. Our therapy focuses on the promise that God makes to us in His Word:

 

Deuteronomy 31:8

“It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” 

 

Our Goal for you

As in all of our practices here at ACG, we desire for you to reach your potential. In this case, when treating for those suffering from a form of depression, our desire for you comes from one of the most beautiful pieces of scripture in the book of Philippians. Paul is in prison at the time writing to the Church in Philippi. He has been suffering greatly in his imprisonment, but has also found time to spread the Word of God to the guards and others who are holding him captive.

 

He says this in Philippians 4:12-13

12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
